I am glasses-free!

I finally done Lasik on last Saturday, it went well and now i am glasses-free (i am so glad!)

I done it at IQ Medical Lasik Surgery Center, it is a very clean, nice clinic, and they have 3 locations (Los Angeles, City of Industry, Westminster)

I have 750 Nearsightedness, 100 Astigmatism on each eye, after my consultation with them, my corneas are in good shape, good thickness and healthy, so I am eligible to do Micro-Lasik.

On my consultation, they check for:
visual acuity
refraction
measurement of current glasses
biomicroscopy
infrared pupillometry (measurement of nighttime pupil size)
pachymetry (measurement of corneal thickness)
corneal topography (using two different systems to measure both anterior and posterior surfaces).

My Micro-Lasik Procedure cost me $1600(nearsighted) + $100(Astigmatism) on each eye, a total of $3400 – $500(Chinese Promotion discount) – $200 (Customer Referral discount) = $2700.00, I choose to pay off the balance with their Interest Free Financing for 12 Months, so $200/month for 12 months isn’t so bad.

But since my eye won’t close completely while I sleep (people with big eye usually have this problem), therefore my eyes are always dry, I need to get preservative fee individual pack Lubricant eye drops ($18 for 250 tube at costco) and use it every 2 hours one the week before my Lasik Procedure, and use REFRESH CELLUVISC Lubricant Eye Drops($15 for 30 tube from CVS) at night. And I have to paid for Vigamox ($70 from pharmacy) and use it 2 hours before the procedure.

Here is my Mirco-Lasik Procedure:
After my eye has been completely numbed using “eye drop” anesthesia, an eyelid holder will be placed between your eyelids to prevent me from blinking. Next, an instrument known as a microkeratome makes a protective flap in the cornea. During this process I felt a little pressure, but no discomfort. I had asked to look directly at a red light while the laser reshapes the cornea (I could smell my eye, smell like BBQ), usually in less than a minute. Then, the protective flap is folded back in place where it bonds securely without the need for stitches. After LASIK, I felt like a little discomfort (like I have wear my contact lens wrong), but that goes away within twelve to twenty-four hours. So it is the best that you could rest (sleep) after your Lasik procedure.

After the Procedure:
I need to put the following eye drops:
Vigamox – 1 drop every 6 hours
Econopred Plus (provided by the clinic) – 1 drop every 2 hrs (on the surgery day) after that is 1 drop every 6 hours.
Lubricant Eye Drop – 1 drop every 4 hrs
Soothe – 1 drop every 3 hrs
Flax Oil – 6 capsules per day.

And my vision is clean but have some blurriness toward lights (Glare and haloe), Dr said some patient will have this for up to half a year, my friend said hers is gone about a week or so, i hope mind is sooner. Example of halo:

Hi, I was actually reading your website for your opinions and experiences with TrueLove, I am also choosing a wedding photographer. I didn’t find your review but found your lasik eye review. I’m doing it as well on March 2. Did you do custom lasik or just regular lasik? By the way, I love your site.

Dear Lily, i didn’t take my wedding day picture with TrueLove sorry can’t help you on that one. I did micro-lasik, not the custom wave-front, good luck with your procedure, relax and you are done!
